ESPY Award Winner Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels wins Best Male Athlete in 2022

A well-deserved recognition was given to Japanese baseball player Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday night at the ESPY Awards 2022. At the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Ohtani, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, was crowned the best male athlete. The award for Best MLB Player went to him as well. In November, Ohtani, who appeared in a pre-recorded video at the ESPYs, was unanimously named the American League's Most Valuable Player. In his ESPYs speech, he congratulated his fellow nominees, "It is an honor to be in the same category as you.

Curry also broke basketball legend Ray Allen's all-time three-point shooting record earlier this season. Aside from that, he was also named NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2022. At the ESPYs, Curry wasn't left empty-handed, winning the NBA's Best Player award. As well as Curry's teammate, Klay Thompson, the Warriors are nominated for "Best Team."For the fourth time in his career, Rodgers was named NFL MVP in February. After receiving the same honor last year, he is the only player to win consecutive MVP awards.
