The news of Devers declining the team's offer before Friday's opener first came from MLB insider Hector Gomez. Devers is two seasons away from becoming an unrestricted free agent.

Red Sox offered to Devers
It is unclear how much the Red Sox offered to Devers. Last season, the 25-year-old Devers hit .279 for the Red Sox with a career-high 38 home runs and 113 runs batted in.
