Almost two decades ago, Pokemon was released, and gamers have dedicated a number of their favorite pocket monsters to their favorite series. Since then, Pokemon has been an inspiration for artists for years. As fans honor one of their favorite franchises, Pokemon artwork keeps flowing.
Pokemon art has flourished over the years in the form of drawings. Gamers regularly create unique works showcasing the various pocket monsters in the series, coming up with different ways to display them. Pokemon is a wonderful subject for many artists, especially when they illustrate in styles that many were not expecting and go beyond the box.
Lucario, a Fighting/Steel-Type Pokemon, was drawn by an artist going by the name MediShiki_. In the image, a star pattern runs throughout the piece, along with a small section showing the creature's intimidating eye. The image is mostly a black silhouette of the pocket monster. The illustration is really impressive and a creative way of displaying both Pokemon. There is a cutout of Riolu in the middle.
There has been a lot of positive feedback for MediShiki_'s piece. Lucario is one of the most popular Pokemon for many users, and they expressed their appreciation for it. In one commenter's opinion, the Pokemon image would work as a poster or they would get it tattooed. A rRedditoralso commented that they loved how Riolu was incorporated into the drawing, asking if MediShiki_ would be doing Mega Lucario next and stating that they would have a large fan base that would be waiting.
The pocket monster art of MediShiki_ isn't the only creative one. As sprites from Generation 5, some of the new Pokemon creatures were drawn by an artist known as SpritersBlock. This gamer drew three new Pokemon creatures: Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv.
The artwork captures the spirit of these adorable Pokemon as sprites, which is quite remarkable. It's nice to see SpritersBlock's art harkening back to the classic games that many players grew up on before the series switched to 3D models. The Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released on November 18.
