The forthcoming Thor: Love and Thunder is the latest addition to the God of Thunder's film series, and Natalie Portman didn't need much help preparing for the movie. In a recent interview, Portman explained how she prepared to wield Mjolnir.
When Portman returns to the MCU as the Mighty Thor, she will play a slightly different role than her usual Jane Foster role. She will possess a new set of superpowers, including the ability to wield Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor.
During her interview for Thor: Love and Thunder, Portman shared her experience of training both before and during the film, and drinking protein shakes to prepare for the action of the film and make sure she looked the part of the superhero.
Though Portman had intense preparation for the role, she said that even with stunt doubles, the film was physically demanding. Although the hard stuff was done by stunt doubles, Portman says there's still a lot of running, jumping, sword-fighting,
There is no clear explanation as to how the Mighty Thor came to possess the Mjolnir in the Thor franchise, but Waititi will surely provide one. In addition to providing some insight into Jane and Thor's relationship, Waititi will also provide updates on what has transpired between the two since the last time fans saw them together.
Marvel alumni will also appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. In addition to Hemsworth resuming his role as Thor, Portman and fellow Thor alumni Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Jeff Goldblum, and director Taika Waititi will all reprise their roles as Valkyrie, Sif, Grandmaster, and Korg in Thor: Love and Thunder.
