Meet The Sparrows and Their Powers in 'The Umbrella Academy' Season 3

As the Umbrella Academy enters Season 3, they will face challenges that no longer exist in the world of superheroes.

It was revealed at the end of The Umbrella Academy Season 2 that the Hargreeves family had been returned to the 1960s Dallas timeline that they had left in Season 1 due to the actions that they had committed in 1960s Dallas. Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) chose not to adopt them because of their actions.

A new group of superheroes that are training under The Sparrow Academy replace Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castaeda), Alison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aidan Gallagher) and Viktor (Elliot Page).

Similarly to the Umbrella Academy, the Sparrow Academy is made up of seven superheroes, with their leader filling the role of Number One and all the others competing to snag the top spot.

Ben

First thing the Hargreeves realize upon returning to the Sparrow Academy is that their late brother Ben is now alive and a student there, though he is quite different from the brother they loved and knew.

In contrast to the Ben that existed at the Sparrow Academy, the Sparrow Academy's Ben is a more antagonistic character who often argues with his former siblings.

Newsweek reported that actor Justin H. Min found it both sad and fun to play this new Ben, who he has played since Season 1.

Asked if interacting with characters other than Sheehan's Klaus was a pleasant experience, Min replied: '[it] was so, so nice.' It has been such a joy for me to be able to, for the first time, look people in the eye and act alongside them for the past few seasons because I hadn't gotten the chance to interact with them.

The outcome of this time around was more adversarial than usual, which is a little disappointing, but it was still fun and enjoyable.'

Despite being on a new team, Ben's powers remain the same, including the ability to summon eldritch creatures from another dimension, such as a giant squid.

Marcus

Justin Cornwell portrays Marcus in the show, and he is the number one of The Sparrow Academy. He has superhuman strength, which makes him an interesting comparison to Luther, the number one character in The Umbrella Academy.

Fei

A portrayal of Fei by actress Britne Oldford is part of The Sparrow Academy. Fei, despite being blind, can see through the murderous eyes of the crows that she can summon at any time.

Alphonso

As opposed to Sheehan's Klaus, Jake Epstein plays the role of Alphonso, the number four in the Sparrow Academy. Almost any wound Alphonso receives is actually inflicted upon his attacker due to his superhuman durability.

Sloane

Genesis Rodriguez plays Sloane in the Netflix series, which centers around a team of superheroes. Characters in the series possess the ability to manipulate gravity, which allows them to float in the air as if they were flying, also empowering them to manipulate others as well.

Jayme

The Umbrella Academy's Jayme is portrayed by Cazzie David. She is the number six of her family. It is a superhero's ability to spit venom that causes her targets to suffer strange hallucinations that give her powers.

Christopher

Christopher, the psykronium cube of unknown origin, is probably the most intriguing of all the members of The Sparrow Academy.

While he does not speak conventionally, his siblings can understand him, and he has a range of mind-bending abilities in addition to fear inducing abilities.
