Mortal Kombat's Johnny Cage teases a new project

A fan has expressed interest in knowing whether Mortal Kombat 12 will be in the works or if it will be something else. The actor who plays Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat series has teased a new project at Warner Bros.

Andrew Bowen, the actor who plays Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11, shared the following video on Instagram and Twitter (thanks, ComicBook (opens in new tab)):

While this is a brief clip, there is more to it than meets the eye. In the background, you'll hear music vaguely reminiscent of Mortal Kombat 2, along with the words: 'Every deadly technique... and savage combat.'

Further, Johnny Cage is a reference to Bloodsport's Jean-Claude Van Damme, which seems to confirm that Bowen is hinting at something Mortal Kombat-related here. Whatever that means for Mortal Kombat 12, some sort of expansion,

Regardless of what Bowen teases, the next Mortal Kombat game is almost certainly in development. Jonathan Andersen, the NetherRealm Studios producer, is reported to have leaked this information.

In October, Jeff Grubb said it was his 'understanding' that NetherRealm was working on Mortal Kombat 12. All of this combined with Bowen's latest tease suggests we're getting closer to an official announcement.

Thank You!
