PlayStation and Steam will also offer Persona 3, 4, and 5

The Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable games are coming to Steam, Atlus announced on Monday. The games can also be found on PlayStation, however, but through a somewhat convoluted process.

The publisher has announced that Persona 5 Royal will come to PlayStation 5 while the other two games will come to PlayStation 4. This news comes just one day after Atlus announced all three games will be released on Xbox platforms and Game Pass over the next year.

Sony's PlayStation 4 backwards compatibility allows players to play Persona 5 Royal. Persona 3 Portable was originally released for the PlayStation Portable, while Persona 4 Golden was originally released for the PlayStation Vita. In addition to Golden coming to Steam already, Portable and Royal will be PC firsts for both of these games.

Aside from Persona 5, Joker appeared as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros., no mention was made of Persona games coming to Nintendo Switch. Shin Megami Tensei 5, Persona's parent series, is a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

It's possible that Nintendo will announce some ports in its next, undated Nintendo Direct if Persona titles are finally coming to the Switch.

The Xbox and Game Pass version of Persona 5 Royal arrives on Oct. 21, while Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are scheduled to arrive in 2023. Neither PlayStation 5 nor Steam versions of these games have been announced by Atlus, and it is unclear whether Persona 5 Royal will launch on Xbox first or simultaneously across all three platforms.

A new version of this story has been published to clarify which games will be released on which PlayStation platforms.
