Xbox will not boost the FPS of Dragon's Dogma

Xbox FPS Boost will not be available on the Xbox Series XS consoles despite the high number of fan requests for the game.

Despite many requests, the feature present on Xbox Series XS will not be in Dragon's Dogma despite the recent announcement of Dragon's Dogma 2.

During the Dragon's Dogma 10th anniversary event, Dragon's Dogma game director Hideaki Itsuno announced the sequel. During the event, he thanked fans for their patience and continued support.

New players tried out Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for the first time as a result of the announcement, and old players revisited the game. As part of the Xbox Deals Unlocked sale, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is only $4.49 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

FPS boost support of Dragon's Dogma on Xbox Series X-S was much anticipated by fans who hoped the game would run at 60 frames per second to enhance the overall gaming experience.

However, Xbox Director of Project Management Jason Ronald confirmed it would not be supported in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. FPS Boost did not qualify Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for the program due to 'unfortunate side effects' in the game.

The FPS Boost program concluded on November 15, 2021, with a final round of games, and Ronald reported that there are no more plans to support FPS Boost on Xbox Series X.

With compatible hardware, PC gamers can play Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Steam, which offers 60 frames per second with no lag. It's on sale for $4.79 until Thursday, June 23.

It appears unforeseen issues arose during testing that was beyond Xbox's control, resulting in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen not taking full advantage of the Xbox Series X's high-performance capabilities.

The RE Engine will be used in a variety of games by Capcom, such as Resident Evil 4 remake, Street Fighter 6, and Exoprimal. Capcom is unlikely to revisit the original title and enhance the Xbox Series X console.

The Steam version offers smooth gameplay and a higher frame rate for those preferring action RPGs. The player counts on Steam for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is surging, inviting others to join in the excitement of Dragon's Dogma 2.
