The gameport presents vintage games, history, and STEM activities at Sci-Port

Shreveport, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - A new exhibit for families that combines science and gaming at Sci-Port.

The second annual GamePort is now open at Sci-Port, where your family can enjoy interactive games like Space Invaders, LEGO builds, and Simon Says.

Clark says GamePort shows kids how games can lead to careers while supporting Caddo Parish schools' E-sports league.

"We are developing skills. The program will give kids the skills they need to survive in the world of game design," Clark said.

Local artists designed the exhibits, which incorporated scientific challenges with games.

"It's nice and family-oriented, and there are lots of things to do there. "There are lots to do for all ages," said Sci-Port visitor Telisha Allen.

GamePort also provides a look into gaming history from decades past, with consoles from the past to the present, providing fun for both young and old.

“It's great, and there are a lot of things to do,” said Sci-Port visitor David Thompson.

You can also take your kids to the Arcade for a blast from the past. One of GamePort's best features is its vintage games, which will bring back a sense of childhood, and you can test your skills all over again.

With GamePort, families can escape to another world while learning life skills that will benefit their children in the future.
