Kratos and Atraus must work together to open the ornate chests that contain the Muspelheim Cipher pieces in God of War. It is not possible to find all the Muspelheim Ciphers in one place. They are scattered throughout the game.
If you have not progressed far enough in the main story mission of God of War, you may not be able to locate some of the Muspelheim Cipher locations.
You can find the first Muspelheim Cipher along the eastern shore of the Lake of Nine at the Cliffs of the Raven. In God of War, you can also find buried treasure marked on the Dead and Bloated Treasure Map.
Pass by the bloated corpse when you dock onshore. You can break the wooden barrier on the cliff face behind the corpse's head by throwing your axe into the opening.
Climb up the chain when Atreus drops the chain down to reach the platform above. Within the ornate chest to the left is the Muspelheim Cipher piece.
On your way up The Mountain, you can find the second Muspelheim Cipher. You must pass through the doors at the end of the bridge opposite Brok's Shop in order to reach The Mountain.
The hallway is lined with several toxic braziers once you pass through the doors. Make your way through the area by throwing your axe at each brazier to stop them from emitting toxic fumes.
Once you reach the caves, you will come to a drop-off. In the toxic smoke, there is a Muspelheim Cipher chest. Prepare to fight off a Tatzelwurm that pops up from underground as you throw your axe at the brazier.
When you have defeated it, throw your axe at the toxic brazier again and open the chest nearby. This chest contains the Muspelheim Cipher.
Get in a boat and dock at the Forgotten Caverns on the northwest side of the Lake of Nine to find the third Muspelheim Cipher in God of War. The cipher chest is located at the top of a cliffside platform. Reaching this platform depends on your progress in the game.
If the water level hasn't yet been lowered, climb up the chain to the left of the brazier to find the chest. It may take you longer to reach the chest if the water level has changed.
Once you enter the cave, climb up the waterfall wall. Continuing up the path, you will reach the top of the outer cliff. On the right, you will find another Muspelheim Cipher piece.
In River Pass, you can find the final piece of the Muspelheim Cipher. Get a boat and travel to the Witch's Cave, located behind the recently eaten statue of Thor, after you have descended from the summit with Mimir.
The only thing visible at this point is his legs. The entrance to the Witch's Cave can be found at the base of the statue.
If you need to defeat the enemies above, use the elevator. To your right, there is a pink sap-filled passage. Atreus should fire his shock arrows at the sap to clear the opening.
The fourth and final Muspelheim Cipher piece in God of War can be found by entering the passage and turning right.
As you now know where all of the Musphelheim Cipher locations are in God of War, it's time to go and get them. Once you have done that, you can travel to the Muspelheim realm.
Simply select Muspelheim from the Realm Travel Room's Realm Table to visit this realm.
