Since more than a hundred days ago, the personal computer servers for Dark Souls have been inaccessible. In all seriousness, Bandai Namco terminated the service in January because of a terrible vulnerability in the system.
There have been a lot of people who have been wondering if the online service will ever come back, and it looks like there might finally be an answer.
A user by the name of Relevant-Heart-1751 reached out to Bandai Namco support on Reddit to inquire about the potential return to service of the game servers for Dark Souls:
Remastered, Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls 3 for the personal computer (thanks, PC Gamer). The response from a representative of the company is sure to provide a smile on the face of any particular undead that is selected.
The statement from Bandai Namco states, "I'm delighted to announce that the devs are actively working on addressing the issue in question and re-launching the Dark Souls servers for PC as soon as possible." "At this time, we do not have an estimate of when this is anticipated to take place," the spokesperson said.
Even while there isn't a date set in stone just yet, at least we know that Bandai Namco isn't going to let Dark Souls wither away and die.
It is unfathomable that an online-only version of any game, much less one as popular as Dark Souls, could be taken offline for a period that extends well beyond three months.
To be fair, FromSoftware was preoccupied with a teeny-tiny game called Elden Ring, which had already had several large patches that rectified (some of) its technological deficiencies.
