Hardspace: Shipbreaker presents a challenging environment in which there is a considerable risk of being injured while dismantling one of the game's abandoned starships.
Flying too fast to a surface, being struck by stray debris, or overheating your trusty modular cutter are all surefire methods for reducing your health and bringing you closer to death.
Fortunately, there are a few easy ways to replenish your HP. Unfortunately, the most reliable of these methods will cost you quite a bit, but it's a drop in the ocean when compared with your character's seemingly insurmountable mountain of debt.
Master Jack is a small shop located near the salvage bay, where you spawn every shift. While salvaging, if you get scratched, you can simply float over to the Master Jack, and interact with the terminal, and the shop will open.
Medkits will cost you a healthy $15,000 each, but don't worry too much about the costs, since you'll make more than enough during your shift to cover them. Health should automatically refill after purchase.
Additionally to medkits, you can also purchase from the Master Jack a variety of items that you might need, including oxygen packs, patch kits, and thruster fuel.
Because Master Jack is resource-heavy, it's highly recommended that you visit it frequently throughout your shift, regardless of whether you need your HP refilled or not.
Alternatively, unused medkits can be found inside the salvaged ships. Those that you pick up will be automatically used once you have them in your possession.
Therefore, whenever you find a loose medkit, it is a good idea to make note of its location, so that when you're low on health, you'll know exactly where to go.
You can also take a few preemptive measures to ensure the health of your character is as safe as possible.
The risk of getting caught in an explosion is greatly reduced if you can safely release fuel from a thruster. If you accidentally start a fire while salvaging, you can put it out using coolant tanks.
